Details Emerge from Train Accident Near Bedford
A passenger who survived the recent train collision near Bedford has shared his account of the incident, describing significant injuries sustained by fellow travelers. Brett Byatt, a teacher from Bedford, was on the East Midlands Railway (EMR) service when it collided with another train.
Eyewitness Account of the Collision
Mr. Byatt recounted that the impact sent people and objects flying through the carriages. He observed individuals suffering from broken bones and severe lacerations following the Friday night rush-hour accident.
"Bodies were flung across the carriages, leaving people with broken bones and deep wounds after the rush hour collision on Friday night," Byatt stated.
The collision tragically resulted in the death of the driver. Furthermore, 89 individuals were reported to have sustained injuries, with 33 of them requiring immediate hospital treatment for their conditions.
