Congressional Staff Investigate Ghislaine Maxwell's Prison Conditions Amid Preferential Treatment Claims

Congressional Staff Visit Federal Prison in Texas

Representatives from the US House oversight and judiciary committees recently conducted a visit to the federal prison camp in Bryan, Texas, where Ghislaine Maxwell, an associate of the late Jeffrey Epstein, is serving her sentence. This visit was confirmed by Democratic lawmakers.

Inquiries into Maxwell's Transfer and Treatment

According to a statement released by Democratic Representatives Robert Garcia and Jamie Raskin, committee staff traveled to the minimum-security facility on Tuesday. The purpose of their visit was to gather information regarding Maxwell's transfer to the Bryan prison camp and to investigate allegations suggesting she has received preferential treatment while incarcerated there.

These claims of preferential treatment had been previously addressed by Maxwell's lawyer in January, who stated that "humane treatment isn't special," rejecting notions of special favors.
