Ceasefire Renewed After Intense Clashes
Following a day of heightened conflict, Israel and Hezbollah have consented to re-establish a fragile ceasefire in Lebanon. This renewed agreement comes after 24 hours of intense violence that presented an immediate challenge to the recently brokered deal between the United States and Iran, which sought to resolve their ongoing disputes.
Diplomatic Meeting Cancelled
A scheduled meeting between US and Iranian representatives in Switzerland, intended to discuss the implementation of the new deal, was called off. This cancellation occurred after four Israeli soldiers were killed by Hezbollah. In response, Israel launched a series of retaliatory airstrikes across southern Lebanon and the Bekaa valley, resulting in the deaths of at least 47 individuals.
