England Captain Suffers Calf Strain
England's cricket captain, Nat Sciver-Brunt, is set to miss a minimum of two upcoming matches in the T20 World Cup. The all-rounder sustained a left calf injury during England's four-wicket triumph over Ireland in Southampton on Tuesday.
Injury Details and Recovery Timeline
The 33-year-old had to retire hurt while batting, having reached 48 runs not out. Subsequent scans conducted on Wednesday confirmed that Sciver-Brunt has a strain in her left calf. This is the same muscle she previously injured earlier in the summer season.
As a result of this injury, Sciver-Brunt will not participate in Saturday's fixture against Scotland, nor will she play in Wednesday's encounter with the West Indies. While she is sidelined for these matches, England cricket officials have not yet ruled her out for the remainder of the tournament. Her condition will be continuously evaluated over the forthcoming weeks to determine her potential return.
