Jenny Simpson, an Olympic medalist, is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital after experiencing a "medical incident" at a Sir Walter Miler pop-up event held in Raleigh, North Carolina. The 39-year-old American athlete was pacing a mile group on Tuesday when she reportedly collapsed and required CPR.
Distinguished Career in Athletics
Simpson, who concluded her competitive running career at the close of the 2024 season, boasts an impressive record. She secured a gold medal in the 1500m at the 2011 World Championships and earned a bronze medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. Additionally, she claimed silver medals in the 1500m at both the 2013 and 2017 World Championships.
