Monika Silva Koniuszek, 41, was discovered deceased in her residence in Montañita, a coastal community situated in Ecuador’s Santa Elena province. The mother of two young daughters, aged four and nine, was found on June 8 with a noose around her neck. However, a subsequent postmortem examination reportedly indicated that she died from a blow to the head and strangulation, contradicting the government's initial assertion of suicide.
