French National and Children Rescued After Alleged Decade of Captivity in Pakistan

Police Intervention in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Pakistani police have successfully intervened to rescue a French national and her five children, following allegations that she had been held against her will by her husband for over a decade. The woman, identified as Sylvie Yasmina, 54, reportedly informed authorities of her prolonged captivity and experiences of domestic abuse in Pakistan's north-western region.

Details of the Rescue Operation

The rescue operation took place earlier this week in Bara, a town situated in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, close to the Afghan border. District police chief Waqar Ahmad confirmed that Ms. Yasmina and her children were found in a mud-brick residence. Her husband has since been apprehended by the police.

"The woman, identified as 54-year-old Sylvie Yasmina, was rescued earlier this week from a mud-brick home in Bara, a town in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province near the Afghan border," stated district police chief, Waqar Ahmad.

The investigation into the allegations of unlawful confinement and domestic violence is ongoing. Further details regarding the circumstances leading to the alleged captivity and the subsequent rescue are expected to emerge as the case progresses.
