Fund Manager Deletes Controversial AI Video After Facing Criticism

Fund Manager Withdraws AI Content

Geoff Wilson, a fund manager known for his critical stance on recent government tax reforms, has taken down an AI-generated video he had shared on social media. The video, which originated from a right-wing nationalist account, depicted Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Treasurer Jim Chalmers allegedly redistributing funds from white Australians to recent migrants, some of whom were shown wearing Islamic face coverings.

Response to Content Concerns

Wilson stated that he had not watched the entire video before reposting it. He also indicated that he had not scrutinized other accounts from which he had shared content earlier on Wednesday, some of which reportedly contained material related to the QAnon conspiracy theory. Following an inquiry from Guardian Australia, Wilson removed the posts, citing “inappropriate associations” once they were brought to his attention.
