Mass Mourning in Tehran for Supreme Leader
Millions of people participated in the funeral procession for Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in Iran's capital, Tehran. Khamenei, who reportedly died in US-Israeli airstrikes in February, was honored in a large-scale public mourning ceremony.
Regional Incidents Continue Amidst Ceasefire Efforts
The funeral takes place against a backdrop of continued unrest in the Middle East. Lebanese state media reported that an Israeli strike in southern Lebanon resulted in the deaths of four individuals, including three women, despite a fragile ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah.
According to Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA), an Israeli drone allegedly targeted a vehicle carrying a school principal, her mother, a foreign female domestic worker, and a male Syrian worker. The group was reportedly returning from inspecting their family residence in Nabatieh al-Fawqa when the incident occurred.
