Police Launch Murder Investigation in Great Denham

Bedfordshire Police have commenced a murder investigation after a mother and her two children were found dead at a property in Great Denham, near Bedford. Officers gained entry to an address on Carnoustie Drive on Monday after concerns were raised regarding the family's welfare, as they had not been seen for several days.

Suspect Identified and Believed to Have Fled

Authorities have identified a suspect in connection with the deaths, who was known to the victims. However, law enforcement officials believe the individual has departed the country. Assistant Chief Constable John Murphy described the situation as a "deeply distressing incident" and confirmed that all necessary resources are being dedicated to the complex investigation to ascertain the precise circumstances and apprehend the responsible party.

Public Reassurance and Call for Information

Despite the serious nature of the incident, the force has stated there is no indication of a wider threat to the public. Nevertheless, increased police patrols and uniformed officer presence will be visible in the area to provide reassurance. Bedfordshire Police are urging anyone with information about the incident, or who observed any suspicious activity in the vicinity on Friday or Saturday, to come forward.

Formal identification of the deceased and the suspect is pending completion before public release. The police continue to appeal for public assistance as they work to piece together the events leading to this tragic discovery.
