Allegations of 'Vulgar and Immoral Content' Lead to Sentencing
Iranian singer Parastoo Ahmadi, along with eight individuals from her production team, including musicians, has reportedly been sentenced to 74 lashes. The alleged punishment stems from a concert livestreamed on Ahmadi’s YouTube channel in 2024.
Court's Verdict and Additional Penalties
According to documents from the criminal court of Qom province, the artists were sentenced to flogging. In addition to the physical punishment, they face a two-year prohibition from international travel and a two-year ban on participating in artistic endeavors. The charges cited include offending public decency through the creation and distribution of “vulgar and immoral content” on online platforms.
