Renowned musician Johnny Marr has announced plans to auction a significant portion of his guitar collection, offering fans and collectors a chance to own instruments that shaped the sound of The Smiths and his subsequent career. The sale, organized in collaboration with Christie's, is scheduled for September 17 in London.

Among the approximately 80 guitars slated for auction is the distinctive Rickenbacker guitar famously heard on The Smiths' classic track, 'This Charming Man.' “It’s important to me that these instruments find new homes where they will continue to be played and cherished,” Marr stated regarding the auction.
