Liverpool Declines Inter Milan's £21.7m Bid for Curtis Jones

Liverpool Rejects Inter Milan's Initial Approach

Liverpool Football Club has reportedly declined a verbal offer of €25 million (£21.7m) from Italian club Inter Milan for their midfielder, Curtis Jones. The Merseyside club reportedly values Jones at approximately £35 million and is not prepared to allow him to depart for a reduced fee.

Jones, who is 25 years old, has one year remaining on his current contract at Anfield. This marks the second instance this year that Inter Milan has expressed interest in the player. The Italian side had previously inquired about Jones's availability in January, proposing a loan deal with an option for a permanent transfer, which Liverpool also rejected.

Inter Milan's Continued Interest

Piero Ausilio, Inter Milan's sporting director, recently acknowledged the club's attention to Jones, stating, "Curtis Jones - we are paying attention to him. We didn't hide. We understand what the developments will be." There have also been reports, including one in the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, suggesting Jones has inquired about life in Italy.

Jones's History with Liverpool

A product of Liverpool's youth system, Jones joined the club's academy at the age of nine. He subsequently signed his first professional contract with the Reds in 2018, progressing through their ranks to become a part of the senior squad.
