The incident occurred on May 22, approximately 40 miles east of Little Rock, Arkansas, during a period of heavy rainfall and reduced visibility. Brown witnessed another truck driver lose control of his vehicle, veer off the road, and overturn. Without hesitation, Brown stopped to render aid.
Upon reaching the overturned truck, Brown discovered the driver with a severe injury: a piece of metal had impaled his leg.
