Marine Veteran Hailed as 'Highway Angel' After Administering First Aid at Crash Scene

Veteran's Quick Thinking Saves Life After Arkansas Accident

A United States Marine Corps veteran and professional truck driver has been recognized for his heroic actions after he applied his military medical training to save a crash victim on a highway in Arkansas. James Brown, who drives for Melton Truck Lines, based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, was honored as a 'Highway Angel' for his decisive intervention.

Dramatic Rescue Amidst Severe Weather

The incident occurred on May 22, approximately 40 miles east of Little Rock, Arkansas, during a period of heavy rainfall and reduced visibility. Brown witnessed another truck driver lose control of his vehicle, veer off the road, and overturn. Without hesitation, Brown stopped to render aid.

Upon reaching the overturned truck, Brown discovered the driver with a severe injury: a piece of metal had impaled his leg. Drawing on his combat first aid experience, Brown promptly took action to stabilize the injured driver and control the bleeding until emergency services could arrive. His calm demeanor and effective application of life-saving skills were crucial in preventing further harm and potentially saving the man's life.
