Major Lottery Prize Awaits Claim in South Wales
National Lottery officials are actively searching for the holder of a winning ticket worth £12 million, purchased in Rhondda Cynon Taf, South Wales. The Lotto Jackpot ticket, bought for the draw on June 6, matched all six main numbers: 08, 10, 26, 30, 35, and 42.
The fortunate individual has a deadline of December 3 to come forward and claim their substantial prize. Andy Carter, a senior winners advisor at The National Lottery operator Allwyn, described the win as an "incredible" opportunity for the ticketholder.
Previous Welsh Lottery Success Stories
Wales has been home to numerous significant lottery winners over the years. In 2005, Sandra Fosbrooke and Ken Henry from Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, secured a £12.8 million win, which they used for global travel and to assist family members with homes, vehicles, and holidays.
Another notable win occurred in 2009 when Les Scadding and Samantha Peachey-Scadding of Caerleon, Newport, claimed a £45.5 million jackpot. Remarkably, Mr. Scadding was unemployed and had a bank account that was £68 overdrawn on the day he bought the winning ticket.
In 2016, a family from Monmouth, led by Sonia Davies, won a EuroMillions £61 million jackpot. Her daughter purchased the tickets after Ms. Davies felt a stroke of luck following life-saving cancer surgery.
More recently, in February of this year, a syndicate of 15 Tata Steel workers in Port Talbot celebrated a £1 million lottery jackpot. Each member of the finance team planned to use their £66,666 share for various purposes, including mortgage payments, holidays, home renovations, and new cars.
The largest prize ever won by an anonymous UK player was £195 million in 2022, according to EuroMillions.
Andy Carter emphasized, "Think back to if this could be you, as we want nothing more than to unite the winner with their prize money. Imagine this sum of money in your bank account and how it could change not only your life but that of your friends, family and charities or good causes close to your heart – this is a massive win and we can't wait to unite the lucky ticket-holder with their Lotto Jackpot prize."
Winners typically have 180 days to claim their prizes. Any funds that remain unclaimed are subsequently allocated to projects supported by the National Lottery.
