Launched on Mother's Day by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Moms.gov is presented by the administration as a resource designed for 'new and expecting mothers,' offering 'guidance and information to support the health and wellbeing of mothers and their families.' However, the senators contend that the website raises 'profound' health and safety concerns, suggesting its primary function is to direct users to anti-abortion crisis pregnancy centers.
The senators' letter highlights their apprehension about the nature of the resources promoted on the site, implying that it may not provide unbiased or comprehensive support for all maternal health needs.
