Violent Clash in Sri Lankan Prison
A riot at a Sri Lankan prison has resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals, including seven guards, and left more than 100 people injured, according to official reports. The violence, described as the most lethal prison riot in the nation in recent years, involved fighting between inmates from two opposing drug gangs.
Following the overnight altercation, victims suffering from cuts and gunshot wounds were transported to Negombo hospital, located north of Colombo. Authorities confirmed the incident on Monday.
