In 2025, baby banks across the United Kingdom provided support to an estimated 400,000 children, representing an 11% increase compared to the figures from the preceding year. This significant rise has prompted charities to issue a stark warning, stating they are unable to sustain the current level of support required to address child poverty without intervention from the government.
Charities Urge Government Support
New findings released by the Baby Bank Alliance, an organization established by Save the Children UK to represent over 400 baby banks nationwide, indicate that, on average, each member baby bank assisted 1,096 children daily. The research also highlighted a substantial increase in demand for various essential items for children.
Charitable organizations expressed concern over their capacity to meet the escalating needs.
