United Airlines Faces Legal Challenge Over Windowless 'Window Seats'

Passengers who claim they paid a premium for window seats on United Airlines, only to find themselves seated next to blank cabin walls, have been given the green light to proceed with their lawsuit. This decision came after a federal judge dismissed United Airlines' attempt to have the case thrown out.

US District Judge James Donato in San Francisco ruled against the airline's argument that the term 'window' simply referred to the seat's location relative to the cabin wall and aisle. United Airlines also maintained that it never explicitly guaranteed a view outside for seats positioned by the window.
